As a previous Christian, I still have some friends that I sometimes bump into whenever I'm out on the streets. And when we do, we chat and talk about anything under the sun. But most of the times, it leads on asking me how I feel about my new religion.

Inaturally get ecstatic about it, because I see it as a chance to spread the good things about Islam.

But yesterday, I saw an old friend, and as always, she couldn't help but ask me if I'm not scared of joining Islam.

I immediately answered a big NO, and asked her why? She then told me about another friend that is now living in scare, because of what is called "Apostasy" in Islam.

I told her apostasy is something you should be scared of if you’re unsure about your loyalty and confidence in your religion. I know she wasn’t that convinced from my answer because she doesn’t have any idea about the truthfulness and credibility of Islam.

So I went to several websites, looking for more convincing explanations, but I wasn't lucky to find something that is stronger enough to use in defense when I get into the same situation again.

I was thinking it would be nice if I get something that will come directly from a knowledgeable fellow Muslim.

So if someone has more to say about this, please share it, because I’ll be more than happy to hear them.

A question about the apostasy in Islam

First, Islam is the religion of truth and honesty, that Islam is surrender to God in monotheism and following him obedience, sincerity and honesty to God

However, Muslims were divided according to varying grades of faith and good works to degrees as God said : " Then We gave the Book the Qur'ân) for inheritance to such of Our slaves whom We chose (the followers of Muhammad SAW). Then of them are some who wrong their ownselves, and of them are some who follow a middle course, and of them are some who are, by Allâh's Leave, foremost in good deeds. That (inheritance of the Qur'ân), that is indeed a great grace." 35. Fâtir

God told us about the occurrence of infidelity from some people after their faith:

'' Verily, those who have turned back (have apostated) as disbelievers after the guidance has been manifested to them, Shaitân (Satan) has beautified for them (their false hopes), and (Allâh) prolonged their term (age).'' 47. Muhammad

And said:" If you ask them (about this), they declare: "We were only talking idly and joking." Say: "Was it at Allâh (swt), and His Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger (SAW) that you were mocking?
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you because they were Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.)." 9. At-Taubah

When we look at history and reality we find a number of reasons and motives led to incidents of apostasy, and that although it has historically been a few incidents of partial and only we can see through some of the reasons contemplate assistance in obtaining apostasy.

1. Weakness of faith: faith that the heart of a mixer it does not budge for any emergency.

Al-'Ankabût

2. Ignorance of the religion of Islam:
This is almost the main reason for the bounce and come back the apostates from Islam, and briefed on their articles and statements it is clear ignorance of Islam out of ignorance because they do not know about Islam but its name only
3. Suspicions raised by the enemies of the religion of the Orientalists and their students affiliated to Islam.
4. Motivation for many of the apostates from Islam is a reaction to environments and conditions under which they lived and raised them, and some of malpractice and unethical conduct that Amsoha, which are not approved by Islam, some practices and superstitious beliefs, and many of the manifestations of sorcery and charlatanism.
5. Idleness intellectual concepts have been disrupted and changed the balance, and the weakness of religious morals.
6. Defeatism fatwas issued by some of their affiliates to the science of non-awareness of all things.

Finally ... Apostasy have many causes collects and links the personal weakness of faith and full conviction, sincerity principle.

These are some reasons for apostasy, and any question or inquiry I'm under your order

To you my sister Heba,

As I'm fully aware how much my faith have grown through the days after i converted, I know I cant depend on myself alone to make it stronger. I need somebody like you to help me..

But as I get to learn more about the good things, i also, for some reason always get across with the all the negative issues that they're throwing against us.

And my heart always aches, but through you and Allah, I know I would overcome all those, and grow stronger in our faith, in shallah..

and, I will start lessons in faith and belief and doctrine is simple, easy, and some of the questions and answer them so as to increase your knowledge
