Saved by Islam
I was a former Christian but not a Roman Catholic. I was born and raised following a different religion. I chose not to mention its name because I think it’s not necessary. I also studied in a school ran by this religion, so I thought that I was already saved and ready to face the final judgment.
But everything was changed when I met a Muslim friend. We got along very well despite our differences but it kept me wonder how a person under this religion could be this good and well mannered—something that I expected to be the opposite. So one day, I asked him about Islam and their fundamental beliefs. He didn’t explain right away but he gave me several books about Islam. I started reading and it made me hooked because every page was full of information that explains and justifies their beliefs.
I can say my friend’s strategy was wise because after reading all the books, I knew that even if he tried to answer my questions before, I would never understand it.
He also gave me some materials that helped me understand the miracles of Quran. After several months of studying, I decided and told my friend that I want to be converted.
He then helped me convert and supplied me with more books and materials that will help me fulfill the duties of a good Muslim. Though I must admit it took me some time to learn how to pray properly.
Islam is the most wonderful thing I learned and will keep in my heart.
But I know I have to keep on learning not just by myself but with other’s help as well.
So I’m calling our brothers and sisters in Islam to help me understand more by posting advice
and other great things that I need about Islam.
This will help me and other new Muslims to know more about the beauty and benefits of Islam.
